Appointment of Anthony Boys as School Principal

Marist Eastwood Old Boys is pleased to announce the appointment of Anthony Boys as School Principal.  Anthony commenced in the position in January 2018 and has already demonstrated great enthusiasm and determination to promote the ongoing development of the School.  He has also provided particular support for the Old Boys Association.

Anthony attended MCE from 1986 to 1991 and is the first Eastwood Old Boy to become School Principal, which is a major achievement in itself.  Significantly his father, John Boys who chaired our Old Boys Association for many years, is also a former student graduating in 1955.

Among several educational qualifications, he holds a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Australian Catholic University.  He comes to Eastwood after six years as Assistant Principal at Marist College Kogarah. The following is an extract from an endorsement on his Linkedin profile:

“(Anthony is) a gifted educator, strategic thinker…highly organised and efficient administrator.”

We welcome Anthony to Marist College Eastwood and look forward to working with him.

The Spirit of Social Justice

The spirit of social justice and giving people a fair go lies at the heart of the Old Boys Association in the continuing tradition of Champagnant. Your Association established a bursary fund for that purpose.

The purpose of the fund is to assist parents who fall into an economically disadvantaged situation for a range of reasons, which can occur in any society.

No one should be denied a good education.

We do not know the names of the boys who have benefited. Recipients are selected by the principal who knows where the greatest need exists.

Any donations you can make have an enormous impact on the lives of the recipients at a formative time of their life.

100% of your donations are applied directly to where the greatest need exists. The benefits are permanent and will endure long after the donation is made.

Donations over $2 to the Association fund are 100% tax deductible.

So with the end of the tax year approaching it is a perfect time to make a donation to the bursary fund, small or large. Thank you to those who have already donated. Donations can be made at any time of the year via the old boys website.
